This lovely swan continued to come to the Athens pond after it lost its mate. Swans mate for life.When I sang to the wild swan, it glided so close to me that I could have touched it. The beauty and loneliness of a lone wild swan can break your heart.

It is a criminal act to injure or capture a wild swan, punishable by fines and imprisonment
