butterflies are endangered
by the use of pesticides
and by some genetic
engineering which includes
pesticides (i.e. BT),
that scientists add to the
genes of plants.
Butterflies such as
the monarch are
dependent on certain
food sources for their survival.
The monarch needs
milkweed which it feeds
on in its caterpillar stage.
