Amish people will often build or move a house close to another house to care for their elderly relatives, or to assist a young couple newly married. They are very humane in caring for each other, and their lifestyle is more environmentally friendly than most 'modern' folks using a horse and buggy for transportation, gardening and being self sufficient. Amish use solar panels to charge their buggy light batteries.
